1. The Situation
Thermal expansion and contraction causes wear andleads to failure at joints and fasteners. As rigidity is reduced, wind and thermal expansion distort the roof sections. Moisture and pollutants penetrate
and cause rust and corrosion, with eventual roof failure.

2. The Construction Process
The metal deck is cleaned thoroughly and primed as required. Fasteners are replaced as necessary with more added if insufficient to secure any openings. The heads are copvered with 'butyl-caps' seals. Next
the seams, joints and wall terminations are sealed using a tough polyurethane caulking compound which is reinforced using strong polyester or polypropolene fabric designed for that purpose. The base coat is applied over the entire roof area followed by the top coat completing the process.

3. The Completed Installation
The PERMAX® coated roof deck offers several advantages. The coating will add many years to the life of the existing roof. The coating is an elastomeric membrane and will flex as the roof expands and contracts. PERMAX® white elastomeric coatings reflect ultraviolet energy and save cooling energy cost keeping the building more comfortable.
